Who we are

TruckMargin ("we", "us") operates truckmargin.com, with planning tools for trucking businesses in the United States and Canada.

What we collect

• Calculator inputs you enter (e.g., costs, miles). Where possible these stay in your browser; we only store them server-side if you create an account or save a calculation.
• Account info if you sign up (email, and payment details handled by our processor — we never store card numbers).
• Usage analytics (pages, interactions, approximate location and device information) through Microsoft Clarity.
• Lane-rate contributions you choose to submit, stored in anonymized/aggregated form.
• Factoring inquiries you choose to submit, including contact and business details such as your company, authority number and invoice volume.

How we use it

To run and improve the tools, provide saved data and benchmarks, send email you opt into, process payments, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

Email & consent (CASL / CAN-SPAM)

We only send marketing email with your consent, always identify ourselves, and include an unsubscribe link in every message; we honor opt-outs promptly, consistent with Canada's CASL and the US CAN-SPAM Act.

Cookies

We use browser storage to remember preferences and local calculator inputs, and cookies or similar technologies for sign-in and Microsoft Clarity analytics. You can manage cookies and storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect sign-in or saved preferences. See Microsoft's privacy statement for information about its analytics services and privacy choices.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run TruckMargin (hosting, analytics, email, payment processor) under appropriate terms, or where required by law. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If you submit a factoring inquiry and consent to contact, we share the details you provide with Summar to respond to that inquiry. This optional form is separate from newsletter signup. TruckMargin may receive a referral fee if you become a customer.

Service providers & cross-border processing

Our service providers may process information outside your province, state or country, including in the United States. Information is subject to the laws of the places where it is processed. The services used to operate TruckMargin include:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, serverless functions and application storage
• beehiiv — email newsletter delivery (US)
• Stripe — payment processing; Stripe acts as data controller for payment-card data (US)
• Clerk — account sign-in / authentication (US)
• Microsoft Clarity — product usage analytics (US)

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us. We retain data only as long as needed.
