Who we are

TruckMargin ("we", "us") operates truckmargin.com. We are based in Canada.

What we collect

• Calculator inputs you enter (e.g., costs, miles). Where possible these stay in your browser; we only store them server-side if you create an account or save a calculation.
• Account info if you sign up (email, and payment details handled by our processor — we never store card numbers).
• Usage analytics (pages, events, approximate location, device) via privacy-respecting analytics.
• Lane-rate contributions you choose to submit, stored in anonymized/aggregated form.

How we use it

To run and improve the tools, provide saved data and benchmarks, send email you opt into, process payments, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

Email & consent (CASL / CAN-SPAM)

We only send marketing email with your consent, always identify ourselves, and include an unsubscribe link in every message; we honor opt-outs promptly, consistent with Canada's CASL and the US CAN-SPAM Act.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. You can control cookies in your browser, and we honor recognized opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where applicable. A consent banner is shown where required.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run TruckMargin (hosting, analytics, email, payment processor) under appropriate terms, or where required by law. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers & cross-border processing

TruckMargin is operated from Canada, but our service providers are located in the United States, so your information is processed and stored in the US and may be accessible to US authorities under applicable law. Consistent with Canada's PIPEDA, we remain accountable for your information and use providers that offer a comparable level of protection. Our key sub-processors are:

• Netlify — website hosting & serverless functions (US)
• beehiiv — email newsletter delivery (US)
• Stripe — payment processing; Stripe acts as data controller for payment-card data (US)
• Clerk — account sign-in / authentication (US)
• Microsoft Clarity — privacy-respecting product analytics (US)

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us. We retain data only as long as needed.
